Hell Fire

Worklog: Here
It seems our nominees are all having devilish thoughts this month (
or maybe we are? - Ed.). Here's another mod that wouldn't appear out of place in the domain of Hades. In fact, the theme is a popular one for tinytomlogan, who also made
Heaven and Hell which narrowly missed out on winning August 2008's MotM last year and was also featured in Custom PC's Reader's Drives in Issue 61.
Project Hell Fire looks set to be just as eyepopping too with some crazy panel cutting and paint jobs that look good enough to eat. Despite only being relatively new to water-cooling, tinytomlogan isn't afraid to feature this heavily in his systems and Hell Fire is no exception.
However the intention wasn't always there - the soon to be owner of the system decided on an ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 graphics card which meant tinytomlogan had to expand the cooling potential of the project. To deal with this, he's including Thermochill 120.2 and 120.3 radiators to cope with the heat.
Above we can see a great picture of the radiator grill being cut by waterjet. If you've sent panels and the like off to modding service providers and wondered how they managed it well now you know. The finished article looks amazing and way beyond what you could achieve with a Dremel. Clearly these services are well worth the money if this is what you're after.
An additional panel which has also been expertly cut for the front 120mm fan mounts is offered up and we can just about see a Thermochill radiator behind the fans.
Lit up from behind, the flame pattern is silhouetted brilliantly. The finished article should look great from plenty of angles! We can also see the awesome top panel fitted with three 120mm fans installed. With a Thermochill 120.2 radiator in the front and a 120.3 in the roof, cooling should certainly not be an issue for Hell Fire and its new owner.
Yet more panel cutting has resulted in a great side panel baring even more flames and a Hell Fire logo. The window should give a nice big view of the interior which we suspect will look equally impressive. tinytomlogan is also experimenting with some very interesting paints including this metallic red which is featured in a video in his project log. Be sure to check this and
the rest of his project log out.
